About The Position

Join Midstate Radiology Associates (MRA) as a Full Time, 1st Shift, Mammography/X-ray Technologist at our Wallingford Imaging. This role involves performing diagnostic and therapeutic mammographic procedures, as well as X-ray and Dexa, serving as a multi-modality technologist covering Mammography, X-Ray, and Dexa. The technologist will operate equipment, perform examinations through proper patient positioning and preparation, and adhere to established policies and procedures set by the department, hospital, state, ACR, TJC, and OSHA. The role requires operating digital tomosynthesis mammography equipment, performing procedures by positioning patients, preparing contrast medias, and selecting correct exposure factors based on patient assessment to produce technically accurate images for radiologist diagnosis.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Radiography program.
  • CT State Radiographer's License required.
  • ARRT (R) & ARRT (M)
  • Current x-ray experience required
  • Full Time position (32+ hours)

Nice To Haves

  • Mammography experience preferred however, willing to train the right candidate
  • Acute care experience and experience with invasive procedures is very highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Radiography and Mammography examinations on identified patients according to department and procedures and protocols by positioning patients, preparing contrast medias, selecting anatomic and technical parameters accurately, and selecting the correct exposure factors utilizing the assessment of patient age, pathology and diagnosis to produce reliable and informational data.
  • Ensures optimal technical quality and accuracy of all mammographic examinations according to MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act), the American College of Radiology (ACR), and FDA quality control requirements.
  • Accurately inputs data into the RIS by tracking procedure performed as well as data required in order to capture exam and supply charges, resource allocation and other relevant information. Transfers correctly annotated images into PACS.
  • Develops and evaluates images for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, and distortion.
  • Obtains all relevant patient information, and assesses physician's order and/or requisition for completeness by reviewing the clinical information, pertinent laboratory results and patient's chart to ensure the correct procedure is performed and proper patient preparation is administered on the correct patient.
  • Educates and assists patients in hereditary cancer risk assessment testing.
  • Perform other related duties as required
