About The Position

With minimum supervision, the Multi-Modality Technologist competently works in two or more modalities within the Imaging Department. Modalities may include Diagnostic Radiology, MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Special Procedures, Nuclear Medicine, or Mammography. The technologist performs technical procedures requiring independent judgment and is responsible for designated areas or procedures in multiple modalities as needed or assigned. The role is based at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills, a 253-bed hospital serving the San Antonio area.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or an accepted and approved equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience in a medical setting.
Basic computer experience.
Excellent customer service experience.
An active primary modality registry or certification in one of the following: Radiography (R) (ARRT); Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) (ARRT or NMTCB); or Sonography (S) (ARRT or ARDMS).
An active postprimary modality registry or certification in one of the following: Mammography (M) (ARRT), CT (ARRT), MRI (ARRT), Bone Densitometry (BD) (ARRT), Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) (ARRT), Breast Sonography (ARRT), or Vascular Sonography (VS) (ARRT).
State licensure as required for the modality: Texas MRT by TMB; Louisiana LRT (R), (N), or (F) by LSRTBE; or New Mexico RRT, DMS, NMT, CT, FUS, MRT, or VS by MIRTP NMED.
BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures, including complex procedures, using computerized imaging equipment in more than one modality.
Work competently and flexibly within assigned modalities as needed.
Interact appropriately with patients and care providers, coordinating and prioritizing procedures to maintain quality patient care and continuity.
Rotate among departments and clinics to provide coverage as needed.
Program the computer after procedures to ensure exams are complete and scan data is correctly stored in PACS.
Keep exam rooms neat, clean, and adequately stocked, and support compliance with Infection Control standards.
Ensure charges are correctly coded and entered in the billing system.
Protect patient confidentiality and disclose confidential information only when necessary to perform assigned duties.
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing and provide excellent customer service.
Adapt patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to meet each patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and developmental needs.
Comply with policies, procedures, and standards established by State and Federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory entities.
Demonstrate adherence to CHRISTUS Health core values.
Perform other duties as assigned.
