About The Position

Maureen Joy Charter School is seeking a multi-language (ESL) teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Our multi-language teachers lay the foundation for our students' academic success and character development. This role involves adapting the curriculum to student needs, using data to inform instruction, investing in professional development, building a strong classroom culture, and meeting professional expectations. Every teacher is partnered with an instructional coach who provides regular observation, feedback, and support to foster improvement and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Planning thoughtfully and teaching joyously, adapting the curriculum to meet student needs, scaffolding learning, and infusing learning with joy.
  • Engaging in shared content planning, where each member of the grade-level team owns lesson preparation for a core content.
  • Partnering with students to foster a mutual love of learning and growing.
  • Using data intentionally to help students achieve ambitious goals by analyzing academic and classroom culture data to inform instruction and target focus areas.
  • Investing in personal professional development through collaboration, reflection, giving and receiving feedback, and professional learning.
  • Participating in ongoing professional development aligned with school goals and teacher development.
  • Partnering with an instructional coach in reflecting and refining practice with regular observation and feedback conversations, lesson plan feedback, and data analysis.
  • Building a strong culture in the classroom by setting clear academic and behavior expectations to create a positive environment and maximize learning.
  • Meeting professional expectations by staying organized to work efficiently, being prepared for teaching every day, and meeting deadlines with high-quality work.
