Multi Hazard Field Planner
About The Position
The primary duty of the Multi-Hazards Field Planner (MHFP) is to provide expertise and guidance to various stakeholders on emergency management and hazard planning. Expertise includes assistance with grants, advising the Domestic Preparedness Region Executive Directors on grants and execution, participation in Local Emergency Planning Committees, emergency operations planning, exercise and training funding and availability, hazard mitigation assistance, disaster recovery and debris management assistance for local governments, Emergency Management Performance Grant planning and compliance, and Radiological Emergency Preparedness (REP) support to local emergency managers. MHFP's will be responsible for participating in other local and state preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of progressively responsible emergency management, emergency services, or other professional experience directly related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge of emergency management principles and/or planning
- Experience in interpreting governmental legislation
- Working knowledge of local and/or state government emergency services procedures
- Experience in developing and/or delivering grant programs
- Working knowledge of maintaining effective working relationships with program stakeholders
