About The Position

The Multi-Family Superintendent is responsible for the successful day-to-day management and execution of multi-family construction projects. This role serves as the primary field leader, coordinating subcontractors, field personnel, materials, schedules, and job site activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to JLG's quality standards. The Superintendent will work closely with project managers, customers, subcontractors, vendors, and other trades to coordinate construction activities and maintain project schedules. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to identify and resolve issues in a fast-paced job site environment.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day field operations for assigned multi-family construction projects.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors and their work activities to ensure projects remain on schedule.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules and short-term look-ahead schedules.
  • Coordinate sequencing of work between subcontractors and multiple trades.
  • Conduct regular job site walks to monitor progress, job readiness, quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Ensure subcontractors are performing work according to plans, specifications, contracts, and established schedules.
  • Hold and participate in job site progress meetings with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Review project plans, blueprints, specifications, and scopes of work to ensure field teams understand project requirements.
  • Identify scheduling conflicts, construction issues, and potential delays and develop solutions to keep projects moving forward.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and ensure materials are available when needed to maintain project schedules.
  • Monitor subcontractor manpower and productivity and communicate concerns to project leadership.
  • Verify completed work and coordinate inspections, punch lists, and corrective work.
  • Maintain high standards for workmanship, quality control, and job site organization.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and take immediate action to address unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, project documentation, and records of job site activities.
  • Communicate project progress, challenges, schedule changes, and field conditions to project management.
  • Assist with identifying and resolving subcontractor disputes and field conflicts.
  • Monitor project progress against established schedules and communicate potential impacts to cost and completion dates.
  • Work closely with project managers to support successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain professional relationships with subcontractors, customers, vendors, and other construction professionals.
  • Support final project completion, punch list activities, and turnover.
  • Travel between assigned project sites as required.
