About The Position

Apply mechanical/electrical/electronic theory and related knowledge with primary focus on mechanical systems, secondary focus on control systems, to install, maintain, repair, modify, calibrate, and make adjustments to automated machinery and equipment in production, laboratory, office and utility areas to maximize machine availability at the 3M Knoxville facility. Troubleshoot, repair, modify, PM check out, and/or install electrical and production equipment including motors, generators, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic equipment, clutches, bearings, pumps computerized equipment and other devices following elementary logic/wiring diagrams, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams and repair manuals. Apply electrical and electronic theory to build, test, and calibrate manual, automatic, digital, and computer-controlled processes on experimental and production equipment. Use various types of test equipment including, but not limited to: oscilloscope, ammeter, megger, phase rotation tester, multimeter, PLC interfaces, optical and laser instruments, and dial indicator when troubleshooting and/or repairing equipment. Read and understand mechanical, electrical, and electronic logic, pneumatic and hydraulic prints when troubleshooting, and repairing, building or installing equipment. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher (Completed prior to start)
  • Three (3) years of Industrial Maintenance experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Possess or will possess prior to starting, a technical degree/diploma or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in Robotics, Automation Technology, Industrial Robotics & Automation, Robotics/Automated Systems Technician, or other multi-craft technology program.
