Apply mechanical/electrical/electronic theory and related knowledge with primary focus on mechanical systems, secondary focus on control systems, to install, maintain, repair, modify, calibrate, and make adjustments to automated machinery and equipment in production, laboratory, office and utility areas to maximize machine availability at the 3M Knoxville facility. Troubleshoot, repair, modify, PM check out, and/or install electrical and production equipment including motors, generators, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic equipment, clutches, bearings, pumps computerized equipment and other devices following elementary logic/wiring diagrams, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams and repair manuals. Apply electrical and electronic theory to build, test, and calibrate manual, automatic, digital, and computer-controlled processes on experimental and production equipment. Use various types of test equipment including, but not limited to: oscilloscope, ammeter, megger, phase rotation tester, multimeter, PLC interfaces, optical and laser instruments, and dial indicator when troubleshooting and/or repairing equipment. Read and understand mechanical, electrical, and electronic logic, pneumatic and hydraulic prints when troubleshooting, and repairing, building or installing equipment.
