About The Position

MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions is seeking a Multi-Craft Maintenance Employee who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and keeping equipment running safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality work, responds well in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and is committed to keeping production equipment and facility systems operating at their best. This role involves troubleshooting issues, making repairs, and performing preventive maintenance with a strong focus on safety. The position is crucial for reducing downtime, supporting production goals, and improving equipment reliability and overall plant performance. This is a hands-on role for someone dependable, mechanically inclined, and motivated by fixing problems and keeping things running.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience working with industrial equipment, machine controls, and 480V/3-phase electrical systems
  • Knowledge of HMI systems, AC/DC drives, motors, sensors, and other industrial electrical components
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, including experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and fabrication work
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Strong mechanical skills and a willingness to get your hands dirty
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing production equipment
  • Ability to operate forklifts and manlifts (or learn quickly)
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and wearing required PPE, including respirators
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safety
  • Ability to follow directions, communicate clearly, and work as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training, trade school certification, or an associate degree is a plus
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license within the City of Altoona is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues on production equipment
  • Performing mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on machinery
  • Welding and fabricating parts as needed to support equipment repairs
  • Repairing and maintaining facility systems and equipment
  • Completing general maintenance tasks throughout the plant
  • Identifying and correcting equipment problems before they lead to downtime
  • Working with operations and maintenance teams to keep production running smoothly
  • Following all safety procedures while performing maintenance work

  • Shift Differential (2nd Shift: $0.70/hour & 3rd Shift: $0.80/hour)
