About The Position

Salesforce is seeking a MuleSoft Account Partner to join their Professional Services sales team within the Customer Success Group (CSG). Account Partners serve as trusted advisors to customers, focusing on execution excellence, deep business understanding, and defining success roadmaps. The primary objective is to help customers achieve significant business value from their Salesforce/MuleSoft investments. This role involves building relationships with license sales and other functional teams to strategically advise internal teams and customers on programs that align with their vision and goals. The Account Partner is responsible for originating deals, strategizing, and quarterbacking execution with support from the delivery organization. The role is specifically focused on the Financial Services sector.

Requirements

  • Professional services sales background or a blended consultative sales and project delivery background.
  • Technical and cognitive ability to scope and strategically plan engagements.
  • Experience working with a customer through a visioning process, assessing business value outcomes, and developing plans to support value realization through a structured program.
  • Ability to present business value-led pitches and effectively negotiate terms aligned with margin targets.
  • Can exercise empowered judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results aligned with company goals and within associated guidance.
  • Recognize the importance of timing to close deals and can balance driving the closing cycle while being responsive to customer needs and building trust.
  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on Values & Behaviors for the role (e.g., extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in the Financial Services domain, delivering value propositions to Financial Services customers.
  • 7+ years of consultative sales experience with a proven record of consistently meeting (or exceeding) quota.
  • Experience selling and/or delivering Professional Services in a context similar to Salesforce or a Global System Integrator type environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain executive (including C-level relationships) where you are recognized as a trusted advisor.
  • Experience growing accounts with large and complex pursuits ($M+).
  • Experience in creating outstanding responses to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.
  • Highly collaborative, excels in a matrix organizational model (aligning with other business functions).
  • Committed team player with strong interpersonal skills who shares and supports colleagues.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced sales environment.

Responsibilities

  • Complete MuleSoft training and become an expert in consulting methodologies and practices.
  • Evangelize MuleSoft's ability to deliver business outcomes and its delivery methodology to customers.
  • Drive account planning, including formulating a clearly defined roadmap or precursor activities.
  • Generate pipeline through self-origination and collaboration with Salesforce License Sales, Delivery, and Customer Success teams.
  • Develop Professional Services propositions for ACC clients and prospects.
  • Utilize industry expertise and business acumen to understand customer motivations, business drivers/challenges, strategic goals, objectives, and desired business outcomes.
  • Engage and present to customers, particularly C-Level executives, using a consultative selling approach to establish long-term trusted advisor relationships.
  • Create a compelling vision and communicate groundbreaking solutions to generate success and business value from MuleSoft Anypoint Platform investments.
  • Develop and lead a territory plan and tailored account plans for each customer.
  • Accurately forecast and timely build pipeline, progressing opportunities to achieve MuleSoft Year-over-Year revenue growth.
  • Develop mutually agreed-upon close plans and drive their execution to meet assigned sales goals/quotas.
  • Act as a recognized role model for collaboration, understanding, and overall business results.
