The MTSS Specialist will support schools in the implementation of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) procedures. This role involves providing training, consultation, and support to administrators, teachers, and school-based leadership teams to facilitate the implementation of MTSS at both the district and school levels. The specialist will also support schools through observation and feedback, modeling, data interpretation, and other necessary assistance. Collaboration with the Office of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment and the Office of School Leadership is expected. The role includes monitoring the fidelity of MTSS implementation in academic support systems at the school level, ensuring compliance with district procedures, state guidelines, and federal regulations. Additionally, the specialist will coordinate MTSS staff development activities, attend professional development and district-level MTSS meetings, and encourage the use of data for decision-making. Monthly communication with the District Leadership Team and maintaining cooperative relationships with parents, staff, and other district personnel are key responsibilities. Effective written and oral communication, serving on district committees as requested, and developing positive rapport with families and staff are also part of the role. Professional competence will be maintained through ongoing professional reading and attending relevant workshops, courses, and conferences. The ability to communicate in more than one language or willingness to learn is a plus. The role also involves performing other assigned duties and maintaining regular attendance.
