Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
  • Three (3) years of experience in SOC or system architecture.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Functional verification of microprocessors.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Python.
  • Three (3) years of experience in System or SOC-level debug and triage.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Defining requirements for manufacturing validation.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Applying emulation and platform-level tools and techniques to ensure performance to specification.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Developing AI-based triaging tools for improving debugging efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and/or test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for semiconductor operations, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
  • Plan, design, develop, and test software systems for software enhancements and new products.
  • Set operational specifications and formulate and analyze software requirements.
  • Develop, modify, and enhance functional and stress tests to identify silicon bugs on emulator.
  • Instrument firmware code to support failure debug.
  • Triage failures with design, verification, firmware, software, and emulation teams.
  • Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance.
  • Exercise wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.
  • Participate in code reviews, creating unit tests, authoring detailed documentation related to work, and working with on-site and offshore teams to deliver the software solutions on schedule.
  • Utilize expertise with computers and electronics, including computer hardware and software, applications, and programming, as well as knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.
