Requirements
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or closely related engineering role.
- Developing secure software, optimizing and enhancing software code quality
- FPGA architecture
- Developing high-performance software (using programming languages including C, Python, and Linux OS)
- Triaging and resolving system failures by identifying root causes and implementing unit test automation to ensure software quality and stability
- Writing and optimizing code for deployment in production environments, ensuring efficiency and performance
- Collaborating with technical support teams to resolve customer-reported issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions
- Driving the bring-up of new hardware, ensuring smooth integration and functionality
Responsibilities
- Research, design, develop, and/or test operating systems-level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for semiconductor operations, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
- Understand and define software requirements and architectures.
- Develop software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, cloud-based and Internet related tools.
- Define proprietary platform(s), including hardware and software components.
- Drive software and systems solutions including development and product definitions.
- Plan, design, develop and/or test software systems for software enhancements and new products.
- Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance.
- Participate in code reviews, creating unit tests, authoring detailed documentation related to your work, and working with on-site and offshore teams to deliver the software solutions on schedule.
- Partake in all phases of the software development including system requirements analysis, coordinating feature design and development across functional and organization boundaries.
- Utilize expertise with computers and electronics, including computer hardware and software, applications, and programming, as well as knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.
