About The Position
Penobscot Valley Hospital, a critical access hospital in Lincoln Maine, is seeking qualified MT or MLT for a 13-week assignment. The role involves 3x12-hour shifts after the first week of training, rotating weekends (usually every 5th weekend), and filling in Thursday night shifts. While there is no call, staff can pick up vacancies if not filled by regular staff. Proficiency in phlebotomy and Blood Bank testing is required. The position also requires adherence to Covid regulations, including proper use of PPE and understanding of isolation rooms. The ability to multitask, prioritize, work independently, and communicate proficiently is essential.
Requirements
- Graduated from an approved program.
- Proficient in phlebotomy.
- Proficient with Covid regulations (PPE, isolation rooms, etc.).
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Ability to work alone.
- Must be able to communicate proficiently.
- BLS/BCLS certification.
- ASCP or AMT laboratory certification.
Nice To Haves
- Microbiology experience preferred.
Responsibilities
