MT/MLT/Laboratory Scientist: 20 Hours Per Week (Rotating)
About The Position
Ascension St. Joseph - Chicago is seeking a highly reliable scientific professional to join their team. This organization is committed to advancing the health, wellness, and continuity of care in the communities they serve and is one of the largest integrated laboratory networks serving hospitals in the Midwest region, with a network that includes 32 hospitals and multiple physician offices. The role involves specimen processing, test performance, and reporting of test results, including waived, moderate, and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director. The individual will also participate in quality control procedures and comply with quality assurance and management standards.
Requirements
- MLT: Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
- MT: Bachelor degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university.
- Or Bachelor degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences.
- At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.
Responsibilities
- Specimen processing, test performance and reporting test results.
- Testing performed will include waived, moderate and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director.
- Report results of all tests performed according to established procedures.
- Participate fully in all quality control procedures.
- Comply with quality assurance and quality management standards within the department as outlined by the department, JCAHO, CAP, CLIA and other applicable agencies.
- Perform specimen collection as necessary.
