About The Position

Franciscan Health Lafayette East is seeking a dedicated MLT/MT/Laboratory Scientist to join their team. This role is crucial for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting results. The position operates within a highly reliable scientific organization focused on advancing health and wellness in the communities served. As part of one of the largest integrated laboratory networks in the Midwest, this role contributes to the continuity of care across 32 hospitals and multiple physician offices.

Requirements

• MLT: Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• MT: Bachelor degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university.
• Or Bachelor degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Specimen processing
• Test performance
• Reporting test results
• Performing waived, moderate and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director
• Reporting results of all tests performed according to established procedures
• Participating fully in all quality control procedures
• Complying with quality assurance and quality management standards within the department as outlined by the department, JCAHO, CAP, CLIA and other applicable agencies
• Performing specimen collection as necessary
