MT/MLT/Laboratory Scientist: 36 Hours per Week (Midnight)
About The Position
The MT/MLT/Laboratory Scientist is responsible for specimen processing, performing tests, and reporting test results. Testing includes waived, moderate, and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director. The position reports results according to established procedures, participates in quality control procedures, and complies with departmental quality assurance and quality management standards, as well as applicable JCAHO, CAP, CLIA, and other agency requirements. Specimen collection is performed as necessary. The position is based at Franciscan Health Indianapolis and is scheduled for 36 hours per week, working 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM on a 7-on, 7-off schedule. Weekends and holidays are worked according to a scheduled rotation.
Requirements
- For the MLT qualification: Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
- For the MT qualification: Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited college or university, or a bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training is preferred for candidates with a bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.
