MT/MLT/Laboratory Scientist: 36 Hours per Week (Midnight)
About The Position
The MT/MLT/Laboratory Scientist is responsible for specimen processing, performing tests, and reporting test results. Testing includes waived, moderate, and high-complexity tests as authorized by the Director. The role reports test results according to established procedures, participates in quality-control procedures, and complies with departmental quality-assurance and quality-management standards and applicable requirements from JCAHO, CAP, CLIA, and other agencies. Specimen collection is performed as necessary. The position is based at Franciscan Health Indianapolis, 8111 S. Emerson Ave., Indianapolis, Indiana. The schedule is 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM, seven days on and seven days off, with weekends and holidays worked according to the scheduled rotation. The position is 36 hours per week, with an FTE of 0.9.
Requirements
- For MLT: Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
- For MT: Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited college or university, or a bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training is preferred.
