The MSD Special Education Teacher is responsible for educating all students substantially and effectively by demonstrating professional leadership, assessing and communicating learning results, demonstrating knowledge of content, reflecting/evaluating teaching/learning, designing and planning instruction, collaborating with colleagues/parents/others, creating and maintaining a learning climate, engaging in professional development, implementing and managing instruction, and demonstrating the implementation of technology. The role involves adhering to all rules, regulations, and policies set by the Board of Education and the School SBDM Council, maintaining accurate student and teacher records, guiding the learning process towards curriculum goals with clear objectives and assessments, meeting and instructing assigned classes, planning a program of study that meets individual student needs, creating a conducive learning environment, preparing for classes, taking precautions to protect students and school property, being available to students and parents for education-related purposes, striving to improve professional competence, attending staff meetings, serving on committees, promoting positive public relations, reporting absences promptly, maintaining a professional appearance, incorporating technology, and maintaining regular attendance.
