About The Position
This position is for a Middle School Social Studies Teacher at Lake Ridge New Tech Middle School. The role involves developing and implementing instructional programs, managing the classroom, fostering school-community relationships, and maintaining accurate records.
Requirements
- Possess a valid teaching license.

Responsibilities
- Establish goals and objectives to meet individual and group needs of students.
- Develop day-to-day and long-range lesson plans that reflect goals and objectives.
- Manage classroom and discipline, and cooperate in establishing a general tone of behavior throughout the building.
- Foster favorable school/community relationships by making parents aware of classroom goals, objectives, and materials, conducting parent conferences, and reporting student progress.
- Be responsible for supplies, care of the room, inventories, and other reasonable assignments as prescribed by the principal.
- Maintain accurate record keeping and issuing of grades.
- Attempt to meet the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs of the students.
- Be knowledgeable of current educational methods and techniques and participate in building and system-wide meetings.
- Cooperate and participate in necessary non-teaching duties.
- Utilize effective teaching strategies such as Project Based Learning, Trauma Sensitive Practices, and MTSS.
- Follow adopted school board and administrative policies.
