About The Position

Crosspoint Christian Schools is seeking a positive and supportive Middle School Girls Basketball Assistant Coach to join their athletics program. This role focuses on introducing and developing student-athletes within a Christ-centered environment. The Assistant Coach will work alongside the Head Coach to manage practices, games, and overall team development, emphasizing fundamental skills, effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The position requires a candidate who embodies the church's mission of "Presenting Hope and Developing People," demonstrating biblical godliness, a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and active involvement in a local Christian community. This is a seasonal, stipend-based position that may be held in addition to other assignments.

Requirements

  • Enjoys working with middle school–aged students.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrates positive attitude, patience, and reliability.
  • Ability to drive the team to games, if needed.
  • Must complete the driving abstract and be approved by the CCS Transportation Department.
  • Must meet WIAA compliance requirements.
  • Be employed by Crosspoint Christian Schools.
  • Be a high school graduate or have completed a graduation equivalency diploma (GED) program.
  • Annually complete the WIAA general rules clinic and the WIAA-approved rule clinic for the sport being coached.
  • Hold a valid First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • Successfully complete Concussion Recognition and Management with Return to Play Protocols Training (valid for three [3] years).
  • Successfully complete Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness and Training (valid for 3 years).
  • Completion of a WIAA-approved Coaching Principles course (within the first 3 years), with recertification every three (3) years thereafter.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred minimum age: 21 (flexible for qualified candidates).
  • Previous playing or coaching experience (youth or middle school level preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Head Coach with assigned duties.
  • Supports and helps lead practice sessions (minimum 3–4 times per week, 60–90 minutes).
  • Helps teach and reinforce basic skills, rules, and teamwork.
  • Assists with game-day responsibilities and supervision of student-athletes.
  • Encourages positive attitudes, effort, and sportsmanship.
  • Communicates appropriately with players and supports communication with parents as directed by the Head Coach.
  • Helps ensure a safe environment for all participants.
  • Assists with equipment setup, breakdown, and organization.
  • Models Christian character and helps foster a positive team culture.
