About The Position

Under general supervision, the MRO Specialist installs, removes, changes, disconnects, and reconnects the Company's single-phase, network, and polyphase self-contained electric meters energized up to 260 volts. This role involves reading meters, testing for proper operation and accuracy, performing credit and collections related orders, investigating irregular usage and energy diversion, and repairing meters, meter sockets, and enclosures. The specialist will also manage the inventory of meters and associated equipment, maintain tools and vehicles, operate automotive equipment, and maintain records and submit reports. Additionally, the role requires assisting other employees and performing similar or less skilled work.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Recommended test results from HireVue Meter Servicer Virtual Job Tryout
  • Successfully complete the Company's training and qualification program for this classification within 24 months of employment, including classroom instruction, written testing, 560 hours of on the job mentoring, and job performance demonstrations.
  • Work overtime as needed including extended daily shifts and weekends.
  • Work late shifts as needed.
  • Work in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.
  • Proficiently use computers and applications related to this classification.
  • Effectively communicate with other employees, customers, and the general public in a courteous and appropriate manner.
  • Promote a positive image of the Company to customers and the general public.

  • Report hazards, unsatisfactory conditions, irregular conditions, and abnormalities.

Responsibilities

  • Read meters as required for field orders and on schedule for cycle billing.
  • Install, program, remove, change, disconnect, and reconnect meters.
  • Test single-phase and network meters for proper operation and accuracy.
  • Perform Credit and Collections related orders including disconnect and reconnect for non-payment.
  • Investigate irregular usage and energy diversion.
  • Repair meters, meter sockets, and meter enclosures.
  • Order, receive, ship, and store meters and associated equipment.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles and work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Operate automotive equipment and its associated equipment, including radios.
  • Maintain records and submit reports as required.
  • Assist employees of equal or higher classification.
  • Perform similar or less skilled work.
