About The Position

This role is responsible for managing MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) inventory, including issuing tools and supplies, organizing the tool crib, maintaining tool functionality and inventory, purchasing necessary items, and ensuring compliance with safety policies. The position requires physical capability to stand for long periods, use hands and arms extensively, lift up to 50 lbs, and wear appropriate PPE. The work environment can involve hot and cold temperatures. The role also involves administrative tasks such as tracking invoices and maintaining records.

Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Continual use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling tools.
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 lbs. without physical restrictions as needed.
  • Must wear appropriate PPE when on the shop floor; such as safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves and safety toe boots.
  • Able to work in hot and cold environments during summer and winter months.
  • Must be detail-oriented and well-organized
  • Must have basic computer knowledge and math skills and be able to write routine paperwork.
  • Must be able to understand and communicate both verbally and in written form in English since instructions, labels and other documents are in English.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Resourceful with good problem solving skills.
  • High School/GED diploma preferred but not required
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Able to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building relationships and negotiating with vendors
  • Training and experience in an industrial environment with familiarity of heavy machinery, welding equipment and tools.
  • Knowledge of tooling and experience working with suppliers is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Issues tools and supplies to shop staff.
  • General tool crib management.
  • Organizing and improving tool crib efficiency and minor maintenance of the tools.
  • Inventory, store, and distribute hand tools and other equipment.
  • Maintain tool functionality, calibration specifications, and safe condition by performing frequent inspections of tools and equipment for wear, defects, or damage.
  • Maintain inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system.
  • Purchase tools, equipment and supplies needed by shop employees using vendors and catalogs.
  • Keep track of invoices and monitor when products arrive and who is responsible for paying for them.
  • Inspect tools and equipment on a regular basis to comply with company safety policies.
  • Responsible for stocking job boxes weekly with consumables and tools needed for specific job needs.
  • Inventory and inspect tools in job boxes monthly.
  • Responsible for stocking and maintaining bolts bin.
  • Perform Quarterly inventory of tool crib.
  • Maintain a record of tools and warranty information and service as needed.
  • Conduct price analysis for different products and make recommendations for purchasing, based on quality, lead-time, cost saving, etc.
