About The Position

Responsible for the purchasing and inventory of maintenance parts and supplies. Negotiate and interact with suppliers, customers, manufacturers and internal department personnel. Must also be familiar with the department equipment, personnel and be aware of quality criteria.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Associate Degree in Business
Five (5) years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experiences are preferred.
Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
Computer skills – ability to use Window based software
Knowledge of purchasing technical
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
Stable work history
Good organizational and decision making skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Cooperative/positive outlook towards work

Responsibilities

Purchase items, materials and/or services of a technical and specialized nature.
Deal with suppliers and manufacturers for purchases and returns of goods involving many different quantities, obtaining the best value possible.
Keep abreast of market fluctuations and new product developments.
Locate new sources of supply.
Assess and evaluate suppliers.
Responsible for the daily inventory of parts and supplies in the parts room and the lubricant storage area.
Determine min./max levels.
Adjusting transactions in the computerized inventory system.
Requisitioning restock when below min. levels.
Organize and coordinate the parts and equipment for repair and the transportation/delivery services to and from Alpha.
Expedite repair requests and warranties.
Interface with Accounting to ensure invoice discrepancies are resolved and properly documented.
