About The Position

The MRO Buyer is responsible for issuing purchase orders for MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) items to support cost, quality, and delivery goals. This role involves collaborating with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Maintenance departments to achieve cost savings, negotiating with suppliers for cost savings and avoidance, and supporting inventory reduction initiatives. The buyer will also focus on building long-term supplier partnerships and performing other assigned tasks.

Requirements

• Knowledge of MRP systems.
• Experience in purchasing with an understanding of MRO.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Read and understand blueprints.
• Solicit/analyze proposals to achieve lowest total cost objectives.
• Generate/disseminate required documents through the use of Oracle, Microsoft Office, and related systems, and effectively communicate throughout.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

• Understanding of commodity market trends
• Working knowledge of ERP procedures/concepts

Responsibilities
