About The Position

Reporting to the Radiology Director administratively and the Radiologist clinically, the MRI Technologist independently performs the majority of exams with minimal supervision within the radiology department. This role requires knowledge of Federal and State regulatory agency standards for healthcare organizations, as well as the cognitive and technical ability to progressively manage care delivery across the continuum of care. The incumbent must be able to retrieve, communicate, and present data and information verbally and in writing, and must be flexible with their work schedule. The role involves upholding the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct, acting in the best interest of the hospital, and fully supporting its mission, vision, and values. A strong understanding of healthcare systems and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse workforce are essential.

Requirements

  • 2 years’ experience
  • Associate degree from an Accredited Radiology Program
  • Possess a level of clinical expertise and competency in cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Must have the ability to handle critical care situations which can create a high level of stress.
  • Must be ARRT (R)(CT) registered
  • Active NM MIRTP Licensure (Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy Program)
  • Current BLS (CPR)

Responsibilities

  • Assists Manager with oversight of staff in operation of imaging equipment and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).
  • Evaluates accuracy and quality of images and provides technical assistance.
  • Provides daily assignment of staff and monitors workload to adjust staffing and/or workload appropriately.
  • Assists with hiring and oversees orientation of staff.
  • Schedules staff to achieve productivity on goals and conform to established protocols and procedures.
  • Oversee procedural flow of department to assure timely performance.
  • Ensures hospital policies and procedures are consistently implemented and followed by employees.
  • Sets clear performance and behavioral expectations and objectives and holds direct reports accountable for meeting those expectations and objectives.
  • Attend staff meetings as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
