About The Position

The Radiologic Technologist will operate computerized and manual radiological equipment for orthopaedic diagnostic purposes. The position will act as an ambassador on behalf of the company with customers, clients, and vendors in public.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Required High School diploma or GED
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) in the state and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging board certified, required
  • Current Mandatory reporting in both children and adult
  • Current Basic Life Support/Cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification
  • Type 30-40 wpm
  • 1-4 years of experience in high-volume interactive clinic or hospital
  • Fluency in medical terminology
  • Strong customer service, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and regulations

Nice To Haves

  • ICD-10 and CPT knowledge and experience, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Using proper radiation protection and precautions, prepares and operates MRI unit
  • Positions patients to obtain appropriate radiographic exposures
  • Participates in quality control and quality assurance studies
  • Demonstrates competency in performing all MRI procedures
  • Ensure patient charts are prepped and documentation is available prior to date of service
  • Performs daily quality checks on the MRI scanner to guarantee proper operation and safety, reports malfunctions to Clinical Supervisor and FujiFilm Service Department
  • Effectively communicates and documents procedures to patients and/or authorized family members at beginning, during, and end of appointment
  • Monitors patients’ safety and comfort at beginning, during, and end of scan time
  • Administers intravenous (IV) contrast, as needed
  • Research and obtain prior MRI studies, x-rays studies, and operative reports to ensure proper test is completed
  • Complies with specific policies and procedures, safety guidelines, infection control, internal and/or external emergencies.
  • Ability to recognize and identify changes in patient status which may or may not require immediate action
  • Complete and resolve questions from patients, co-workers, and physicians. Ensure all pertinent information is documented in EMR system
  • Assist Prior Authorization department with diagnosis and treatment questions to guarantee insurance approval
  • Enforce magnetic field safety for patients, vendors, families, visitors, and co-workers at all time
  • Maintains equipment services, patient logs, and related staff statistics for compliance with ACR requirements
  • Complete and maintain ACR accreditation
  • Quarterly educate and train all new and current employees regarding ACR guideline changes, regulations, or annual compliance recertification
  • Regular in office attendance is required
  • Other duties as assigned
