About The Position

BJC Outpatient Imaging is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist for a Full-Time position at our outpatient imaging center in Chesterfield, MO. The MRI Technologist performs routine and complex MRI procedures while providing safe, high-quality patient care and diagnostic imaging. This position works closely with the imaging center team to ensure an excellent patient experience and adherence to established clinical and safety standards.

Requirements

Must have a minimum Associates Degree in Radiology or be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.
Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography, or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMIT) and maintain current valid registration from ARRT or ARMIT.
MR advanced registration through ARRT or ARMIT is required upon hire for IDTF centers. Non-IDTF centers require MR advanced registry within the first 12 months of employment.
Additionally, must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice.
Knowledge of routine to complex MRI procedures and protocols.
Skill in operation of MRI equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment.
Ability to work independently and multitask.
Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.

Responsibilities

Perform MRI procedures using established protocols to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
Review patient history and physician orders and ensure appropriate documentation.
Prepare, position, and monitor patients throughout procedures.
Perform venipuncture, maintain IV access, and administer contrast or medications as appropriate.
Select appropriate pulse sequences and imaging parameters.
Evaluate images for technical quality and accuracy.
Perform point-of-care creatinine testing as required.
Follow all MRI safety, emergency, and quench procedures.
Provide patient education and support throughout the imaging process.
Maintain equipment, exam rooms, supplies, and imaging records.
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
Assist with training students and staff as needed.
Support other areas of the imaging center when appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned.
