About The Position

The MRI Technologist is an In House Registry employee who works as-needed shifts based on staffing needs. Employees generally work at least two shifts per month, and often more. The MRI Tech reflects Northwestern Medicine’s mission, vision, and values; follows its Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program; and complies with applicable policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory and accreditation standards. The position is listed at 1.2 hours per week (0.03 FTE) with rotating shifts.

Requirements

Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
One year of Radiologic Technologist experience.
ARRT registration with MRI certification within one year of hire.
CPR – Basic Life Support.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science degree.
Two years of MRI experience.

Responsibilities

Perform MRI testing procedures.
Serve as the first-line interface with patients to meet their MRI testing needs.
Perform high-quality MRI testing in accordance with department policies and procedures.
Obtain accurate patient screening and consent according to department policies and procedures.
Perform and maintain quality monitors in accordance with department policy and procedure.
Provide care appropriate to patients’ conditions and ages, including pediatric, geriatric, and general populations.
Follow patient safety policies and procedures, including safe MRI environment practices, patient monitoring, fall-risk precautions, pregnancy verification, GFR assessment, and patient identification.
Remain flexible, organized, and professional in stressful situations.
Take MRI call according to the schedule.
Respond within an appropriate time frame when called in.
Assist with orientation and training for new staff and interns as requested.
