About The Position

The CT Scan Tech reflects Northwestern Medicine’s mission, vision, and values, adheres to its Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory and accreditation standards. The role provides computed tomography imaging and patient care services to patients at defined levels. This is a casual in-house registry position with variable, rotating shifts, scheduled for 2 hours per week (0.05 FTE).

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
• ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT) within one year of hire.
• CPR-Basic Life Support.
• Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) licensure.

Nice To Haves

• One year of Radiology Technologist experience.

Responsibilities

• Position patients and accurately select anatomic and technical parameters, using ALARA principles during examinations.
• Implement radiation protection and safety standards.
• Prepare for and assist the physician with computed tomography procedures, including interventional procedures.
• Perform reconstruction of CT images.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
