About The Position

This MRI Technologist position is located at Bloomington Hospital. The hours will be 10am - 7pm, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Holiday Rotation and occasional On Call required. No weekends. A sign-on bonus is available for eligible applicants. The role involves possessing knowledge of MRI safety and safety zones, reviewing patient history, and screening for safety concerns. The technologist will educate patients, obtain IV access, prepare and administer contrast, and respond to adverse contrast events. Advanced knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy is required, along with ensuring the MRI environment remains safe by screening visitors and team members. The position requires knowledge of scanning protocols and the ability to adjust them for diagnostic images, perform routine QC, and ensure equipment is functioning properly. Collaboration with radiologists and referring physicians, documentation in EMR, and assisting with minimally invasive procedures as needed are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

0-3 years of relevant experience.
Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
Advanced certification through one of the following: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: Registered Technologist - Magnetic Resonance, RT(MR); or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT): Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (RMRIT), within 12 months of hire.
May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable.

Nice To Haves

MRI experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Possesses knowledge of MRI safety and safety zones.
Reviews patient history and screens for safety concerns (ferromagnetic objects, implanted devices, etc.).
Educates patients on what to expect and ensures they are safe and comfortable during their scan.
Obtains IV access, prepares and administers contrast and is familiar with recognizing and responding to adverse contrast events.
Ensures the MRI environment remains safe by screening all visitors and team members entering the MRI environment.
Displays knowledge of scanning protocols and adjusts to ensure diagnostic images.
Performs routine QC and ensures equipment is functioning properly.
Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians.
Documents necessary information in EMR.
Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.
