About The Position

This position is 40 hours per week, with an evening shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, and includes rotating weekends and holidays, as well as rotating on-call duties. The role involves performing all technical and mechanical aspects of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, including positioning and technical factors, while considering the patient's age, condition, and ability to communicate. The technologist will assess and recognize normal/abnormal anatomy/pathology, tailoring the scope of the exam as indicated. They will review exams with the Radiologist as necessary, contributing technical and professional knowledge, and display knowledge of the principles of Magnetic Resonance Imaging. The role requires responding appropriately to medical emergencies and functioning effectively in stressful situations. Effective communication with patients, families, staff, physicians, and medical office personnel is essential. Proficiency in venipuncture and performing Point of Care Testing, including QA and maintenance on Point of Care equipment, is also required. The technologist will demonstrate knowledge of appropriate clinical history for each MRI exam and will be cross-trained to CT. Requirements

  • Two years MRI experience.
  • Ability to work at a quick pace with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to concentrate and prioritize in multi-task setting.
  • Graduate of accredited MRI program and/ or current R.T. (MRI) (ARRT) registration.
  • R.T. (MR) (ARRT)
  • MRI registration required within one year of hire.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs.
  • Occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 – 100 lbs and sitting.
  • Constant use of hearing, sight and speech.
  • Frequent use of smell and touch.
  • Frequent keyboard and telephone use.
  • Constant concentration and problem solving.
  • Vaccinated against influenza (flu).

Nice To Haves

  • MRI registration and GE experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
