As an MRI Technologist, you will perform routine MRI exams and procedures on patients of all ages, health backgrounds and conditions. You will ensure they feel comfortable, safe and properly informed throughout the entire process, helping facilitate a welcoming and supportive experience. In this role, you have access to a unique avenue in which to enhance your skills using the latest technologies and leave a positive lasting impression on patients every day. A caregiver in this position works 2nd shift, FT, 4-10s (Mon-Fri: 12:30pm—11:00pm). Occasional weekend coverage, hours for weekends are 7:30am—6:00pm.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT) or The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), or R.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standing. Or must be a Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(N) (ARRT) in good standing or be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (ARDMS and NMTCB are primary pathways)
  • Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging: R.T.(MR)(ARRT) (required within one year of hire)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross certification
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
  • Requires frequent pushing and pulling of equipment up to 75 pounds.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience as a General Radiologic Technologist or experience in other imaging modalities

Responsibilities

  • Acquire and review patient questionnaire, chart and data/requisition to determine contraindication of having MRI examination.
  • Perform MRI procedures required per protocol and perform daily QA.
  • Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment, and exams.
  • Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam.
  • Report any malfunctions and observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems or calls for service.
  • Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility.
  • Processes billing via RIS.
  • Instruct and mentor new hires and Radiology students.
  • Attend in-service programs and professional affiliation sessions.
