  • BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE)
  • BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS)
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Must be registered in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registered as a Technologist (ARMRIT)- Advance Registry MRI Technology within one calendar year of hire.
  • Graduate of an accredited imaging program.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains MRI Safety in accordance with safety recommendations outlined by the American College of Radiology and hospital policy.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
  • Analyzes acquisition parameters and resulting sequences and identifies issues with the quality of images.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and/or repeating images/sequences in conjunction with interpreting physicians and standard protocols.
  • Takes on call shift responsibilities as required by the department.
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Charges appropriately for all supplies used for procedure and utilizes appropriate exam codes.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Selects appropriate imaging parameters.
  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
