About The Position

An MRI Technologist is a healthcare professional who specializes in operating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to create detailed images of the body's internal structures. MRI technologists play a crucial role in diagnostic imaging and patient care, using advanced technology to help physicians diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions.

Requirements

  • Possess a current Washington State License as a Radiologic Technologist Certification.
  • MRI registered through ARRT.
  • One or more years’ experience in Radiography, preferably in MRI.
  • Clinical skills for conducting examinations and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills with patients and healthcare team.
  • Demonstrating empathy and compassion towards patients.
  • Critical thinking for evaluating patient needs and developing treatment plans.
  • Attention to detail in documenting patient information accurately.
  • Ability to work effectively in a healthcare team.
  • Efficient time management for prioritizing tasks and appointments.
  • Adaptability to changing patient needs and healthcare protocols.
  • Cultural competence in understanding diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI scans on patients according to physician orders.
  • Position and instruct patients for imaging procedures to obtain clear and accurate images.
  • Operate MRI equipment and adjust scan parameters to capture high-quality images.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures, including monitoring for adverse reactions to contrast agents.
  • Maintain detailed patient records and documentation of imaging exams.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations related to magnetic fields, radiation, and patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Provide education and support to patients undergoing MRI scans.
  • Stay current on developments in MRI technology through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and compassion in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
