About The Position
Akumin is hiring an MRI Technologist at its Chicopee, Massachusetts facility. The role provides outpatient diagnostic imaging and patient care. MRI technologists communicate with patients, explain procedures, and help put patients at ease while attending closely to comfort, safety, and satisfaction. Duties include patient safety screening, producing diagnostic images, maintaining supplies and equipment, communicating with customers and radiologists, and training new technologists or patient care staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Registration as a technologist through ARRT, NMTCB, or ARDMS.
- State license, as required.
- CPR certification for technologists performing mid-day moves.
- Active state driver's license.
Nice To Haves
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
- Registry in Magnetic Resonance through ARRT.
Responsibilities
- Ensure patient safety, including screening for contraindications and using aseptic injection technique.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Order supplies, clean the unit, and assist with preparing for transport on a daily basis.
- Communicate effectively with customers and radiologists.
- Train new technologists and/or patient care staff.
