About The Position

Under general supervision, performs all MRI procedures. This includes preparing and positioning patients, selecting appropriate data acquisition methods, preparing and injecting contrast media, performing sterile techniques, maintaining work area hygiene, post-processing data and images, and employing safety practices in strong magnetic fields. The role also involves providing age-appropriate care and ensuring patient satisfaction through friendly and attentive interaction. The position requires attending mandatory educational programs.

Requirements

Valid NYS Radiologic Technologist license and American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification required.
Must obtain NYS License Injection Registered status within 6 months of starting in position.
Must obtain ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) within 1 year of starting in position.
At least one year of radiologic technologist experience.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire date.

Nice To Haves

One year MRI experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepares and positions patients for MRI procedures observing specific requirements for each procedure while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
Selects the best method to provide the most adequate data acquisition for any anatomical part.
Prepares contrast media for various procedures.
Injects contrast media as required for patient procedures.
Performs sterile technique as needed and maintains universal precautions as required.
Maintains the general appearance and hygiene in the work area.
Post processing of data and images.
Employs safety practices as needed in the area of strong magnetic fields.
Is responsible for attending all annual mandatory educational programs as required by position.
Provides age appropriate care to neonate, infant, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Understands and demonstrates the importance of satisfying the needs of the customer/patient by interacting with him/her in a friendly and caring way, being attentive to the customers' needs, both psychologically and physically, and by taking the initiative to maintain communication with the customer in order to provide a secure and pleasant experience.
