Performs routine and special magnetic resonance imaging procedures. Produces MR images of designated anatomical areas according to established practices and procedures. Responsibilities include acting as an on-call technologist, training new staff, and possessing an ARRT advanced level specialty exam certification. The role involves obtaining patient history, explaining procedures, addressing patient concerns, administering intravenous contrast media under physician supervision, recognizing and treating complications, scheduling cases, positioning and transferring patients, immobilizing patients as necessary, practicing MRI safety procedures, and maintaining required documentation. The technologist is expected to demonstrate knowledge of growth and development across the patient lifespan, provide age-specific care, and commit to patient, visitor, and staff safety by complying with regulations, reporting errors, and participating in safety initiatives. They must also maintain policies and procedures, enhance professional growth, provide outstanding customer service, foster teamwork, practice fiscal responsibility, and manage supplies and work areas. This is a full-time position requiring 80 hours biweekly, with a shift of Day/Evenings (three 12-hour shifts from 10:30 AM to 11 PM), and includes every 5th weekend (8 AM to 8 PM) and on-call duties every 5th holiday.
