MRI Technologist Lead
About The Position
Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center is a large, renowned hospital in the Texas Medical Center, known for its leadership in research and clinical excellence, particularly in cardiovascular care, neuroscience, oncology, and transplantation. It houses the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center and features a new campus designed with patient and staff well-being in mind. As an MRI Technologist Lead, you will perform high-quality MRI examinations, prepare patients, operate advanced MRI equipment, ensure safety in the magnetic environment, and capture detailed images. Success in this role requires expert technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent patient communication skills.
Requirements
- Certificate from accredited MRI program and Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ‐ ARRT (MR), upon hire or Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ‐ ARRT (R)(MR); must maintain current and certified by State of Texas ‐ MRT, upon hire
- Three (3) years of MRI experience, upon hire
- Registered Technologist Magnetic Resonance Imaging, upon hire or Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association, upon hire
Responsibilities
- Performs all Functions of an MRI Technologist position.
- Responsible for the daily supervision, coordination, safety, technical, and quality aspects of the Radiology MRI section.
- Provides direction of section Leads and staff on coordinating clinical and technical operations in the MRI Department of Radiology, in accordance with institutional, and state and federal standards.
- Assists in reviewing and revising department policies and procedures to ensure continuity in compliance with JCAHO/DNV and other regulatory requirements.
- Works with the management on achieving department goals and objectives; promotes teamwork between staff.
- Supervises, Performs and/or Assists with the performance of MRI procedures, the processing and quality control of images, transportation and coordination of patients and related duties of technologists and ancillary personnel.
