Qualified candidates are eligible to receive a sign-on bonus. This role operates magnetic resonance imaging equipment, computer, and image management systems to perform MRI exams. The technologist collaborates with radiologists and staff regarding patient testing and complies with MRI safety practices. On-call duties are required as per department needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited Radiology program.
  • Ability to deal effectively and ethically with medical and confidential information relating to patients, families, physicians and nursing personnel.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of maturity and exercise individual judgment in working with patients, equipment, and personnel involved in MRI exams.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in all written and oral communications, including email.
  • Skills in technical data interpretation.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire.
  • RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire or MR - Magnetic Resonance Imaging ARRT - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year or ARMRIT - Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist - American Registry of MRI Technologists within 1 Year.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the diagnosis and treatment of neonate, infant, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
  • Acquires or produces tomographic images of designated portions of the human body to obtain a diagnosis using magnetic resonance imaging equipment.
  • Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.
  • Ensures prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS (image quality and patient data/history).
  • Performs patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.
  • Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
  • Performs contrast injections under the direct supervision of the radiologist or designated physician.
  • Additional duties based upon the needs of the department.
