About The Position

As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations to assist in diagnosing medical conditions. Every day you will prepare patients for scans, operate advanced MRI equipment, ensure patient safety in the magnetic environment, and accurately capture detailed anatomical images. To be successful, you will demonstrate expert technical proficiency in MRI, meticulous attention to detail for image quality and safety, and excellent patient communication to ensure a comfortable and effective diagnostic experience. Utilizes innovative customer service techniques to provide a positive patient care experience for the patient and their family. Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedure performance. Acts professionally in all dealings with internal and external customers to promote a working environment that focuses on the patient experience and not operational rivalries or roadblocks to care.

Requirements

  • Must have completed an accredited Radiology or MRI program
  • One (1) year experience in Radiology
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 of hire
  • Medical Radiographer: TX
  • Once of the following: Registered Technologist Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT(MRI)) within 9 months of hire
  • Registered Technologist Computed Tomography (ARRT(CT)) within 9 months of hire
  • ARMRIT MRI within 9 months of hire
  • Registered Technologist Radiography (ARRT(R)) within 9 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Associates in Science Degree, Allied Health or Radiologic Technology

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce special radiographic images of specific body parts.
  • Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment as required.
  • Assist radiologist with procedure.
  • Administer contrast media as directed and per protocol.
  • Communicates effectively with patients and their families about the procedure to be performed in order to obtain information and to offer reassurance.
  • Establishes and maintains lines of communication with all other staff members and Radiologist to ensure an effective and harmonious working environment.
