About The Position

Provides magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and patient care services at defined levels to patients. This job description describes the general nature and level of work required by the position. Requirements

  • No experience required
  • Diploma, Associate's degree or higher in Science or related field required upon hire
  • RT(R) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Radiology required upon hire
  • RT(MR) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Magnetic Resonance Imaging required upon hire
  • ROC - Radiation Operator Certification in the state of Kentucky required upon hire
  • BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
  • Works under direct supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Applies more advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization.

Responsibilities

  • Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Applies as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) principle to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Implements patient safety standards.
  • Prepares for and assists the physician in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/"or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Supports Owensboro Health’s Mission, Vision, Core Commitments, and business interests.
  • Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Executes all tasks and behaves in a manner consistent with a culture of compliance, safety and a high reliability organization.
