MRI Technologist Aide

About The Position

The MRI Technologist Aide provides a professional, caring atmosphere for patients and other customer groups and assists technical staff in a fast-paced medical environment. The aide supports patient safety and comfort throughout the MRI process, helps prepare exam rooms and patients, assists with documentation and prior exam materials, and helps clean and stock exam rooms. The posted schedule is Monday 6:30 a.m.–3 p.m., Friday 6:30 a.m.–7 p.m., and Saturday 6 a.m.–6:30 p.m. The pay range is $17–$29 per hour, plus benefits; individual pay depends on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
CPR certification.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
Ability to push, pull, and lift a minimum of 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Follow policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety.
Assist the technologist with preparing the room and setting up the appropriate coil for the exam.
Ensure clean linen is available and make items available to assist with patient setup.
Assist with patient interviews, including safety checklists, symptoms and history, and determining whether prior exams exist.
Ensure patients are properly dressed for the exam, explain the procedure, and reassure patients who are anxious.
Assist the technologist with positioning patients for exams, helping patients onto the table, ensuring safety devices are in place, and making patients comfortable.
Assist after exams by removing patients from the bore and safety equipment, helping them off the table, and accompanying them to the changing area.
Help ensure paperwork is complete and obtain prior paperwork and pertinent exams.
Help verify prior exams are available on the appropriate workstation.
Assist with technologist data entry.
Clean and stock exam rooms.
