About The Position

The MRI Technologist Aide provides a professional, caring atmosphere for patients and other customer groups while assisting technical staff in a fast-paced medical environment. The role supports MRI exams by preparing rooms and equipment, helping patients through preparation and positioning, and assisting technologists during and after exams. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift at least 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Follow policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety.
• Assist the technologist with setting up the exam room, selecting the appropriate coil, and ensuring clean linen and useful patient setup items are available.
• Assist with the patient interview process, including safety checklists, symptoms and history, and determining whether prior exams exist.
• Ensure patients are properly dressed for the exam, explain the procedure, and reassure patients who are anxious.
• Help position patients for exams, assist them onto the table, ensure safety devices are in place, and help them get comfortable.
• Assist the technologist after the exam by removing patients from the bore, removing safety equipment, and helping patients off the table and to the changing area.
• Help ensure paperwork is complete and obtain prior paperwork and pertinent exams.
• Help confirm prior exams are available on the appropriate workstation.
• Assist with technologist data entry.
• Clean and stock exam rooms.
