About The Position

The MRI Technician provides clear images to physicians through MRI scanning. The technician follows physicians’ instructions, explains MRI procedures to patients, selects software options and imaging parameters, reviews images from imaging sessions, and maintains report records. The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, sensitivity to patient needs, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team.

This is a temporary assignment in Essex County, New Jersey, with an immediate start and an assignment length of 8 to 13+ weeks. The stated pay is $2,200–$2,700 per week.

Requirements

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• An associate degree in MRI or radiology technology, MRI certification, and IV certification.
• A license and certification to work as an MRI technician.
• Current state license and ARRT registry.
• Attention to detail, mathematical skills, and technical skills.

• Experience with MRI equipment and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Explain the MRI process to patients and ensure they comply with safety standards.
• Position patients and, when needed, sedate them to capture clear images of the correct body area.
• Remove and replace IVs and catheters for the MRI process.
• Maneuver and position MRI equipment to capture the correct images.
• Monitor patients during scanning and maintain patient records.
• Monitor MRI equipment functions.
• Ensure images are clear so physicians can provide accurate diagnoses.
• Recognize abnormalities and irregularities in images.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly quality-assurance tests.
