Requirements

  • two year certificate or associates degree
  • successfully passed the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • MRI Certification
  • BLS certification

Responsibilities

  • Performs magnetic resonance imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice
  • Reviews patient history and physician’s orders.
  • Educates patients on procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
  • Positions patients and performs imaging procedures.
  • Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
