About The Position
Fairfax Radiology Centers — the largest radiology practice in Northern Virginia — is looking for a detail-oriented and patient-focused MRI Tech Aide to join our busy MRI Center in Arlington/Ballston, Virgnia. In this vital support role, you’ll assist MRI Technologists with non-clinical tasks, help clarify physician orders, and ensure a smooth, efficient patient experience. Your professionalism, organization, and care will make all the difference in keeping our center running seamlessly — and in making patients feel at ease.
Requirements
- Medical Assistant (MA) certification or MRI Tech Aide certification (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required at hire)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Strong communication skills and a caring, professional demeanor
Nice To Haves
- 1+ years of experience in a medical or radiology office (preferred)
- Ability to start IVs (highly preferred)
Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding service to patients and families, explaining MRI procedures clearly and compassionately
- Set up the MRI suite for exams and assist patients with safe transfers to and from the imaging table
- Start IV access prior to procedures (when applicable)
- Ensure patient comfort, modesty, and safety throughout the process
- Communicate with physician offices to clarify and complete MRI orders
- Confirm critical exam details (body part, laterality, contrast use) and request order modifications when appropriate
