About The Position

Works with each Facilities staff CT, MRI, NM, Mammo, US or Echo techs to ensure quality patient care and service delivery in an efficient, cost controlled manner. Responsible for communication of protocols with Radiologist groups to technical staff. Responsible for developing high quality protocols for CT, MRI, NM, Mammo, US or Echo examinations and are consistently followed at each Facility. Responsible for training and continuing education of CT, MRI, NM, Mammo, US or Echo technical staff. Active participant in continuous quality improvement programs at each CT, MRI, NM, Mammo, US or Echo facility. Ensure each scanner is ACR (or other applicable body) accredited as appropriate. Strong organizational and leadership skills utilized to ensure work flow is maximized and systems such as staff, injectors and scanners are used to their full potential. Develops appropriate CT, MRI, NM, Mammo, US or Echo protocols to ensure quality patient scans at multiple UL Health Imaging Facilities. Assists with technical staff and daily operations of the CT, MRI, NM, Mammo, US or Echo facilities and ensures quality of work. Contributes to the effective management and quality outcomes of the CT, MRI, NM, Mammo, US or Echo facilities. Supports and monitors reports identified as quality and compliance matters. Provides professional development, training and orientation of CT, MRI, NM, Mammo, US or Echo department technical staff to assist in maintaining staff’s competency at the site. This may include working with Education to develop KNOW modules. Ensure facilities provide a safe environment for our patients and visitors. Assists in maintaining department and employee records to ensure accurate training documentation protocol accuracy and understanding. Maintains responsibility for general technical functions and efficient utilization of time. Assists in delivering high quality health care services in a professional, compassionate, and courteous manner while respecting the dignity and individuality of each person who comes in contact with the organization. Displays knowledge and complies with the National Patient Safety goals. Uses standard precautions, PPE, at all times. Maintains regulatory compliance and licensure for current position. Attends all UofL Health required educational programs as well as all KNOW modules.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • 5 years previous experience in CT, MRI, NM, Mammo, Us or Echocardiography required.
  • Registry in area of expertise required upon hire (i.e. CT, MRI, US).
  • For CT area of expertise: Possess and maintain certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Computed Tomography (CT) required.
  • State of Kentucky License required.
  • For MRI area of expertise: Possess and maintain certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) required.
  • For US area of expertise: Graduate of accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and/or equivalent experience.
  • ARDMS, ARRT (US), or RVT registry required upon hire.
  • For NM area of expertise: Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology (required).
  • ARRT(N), OR CNMT (NMTCB) required upon hire.
  • State of Kentucky License required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Multiple system experience preferred.
  • MRSO certification recommended.
