About The Position

Reporting directly to the MRI Modality Manager, this role assists with daily department operations and serves as the key contact point for research, ACR accreditation, scanner/injector protocols, department education, and QA. The specialist interacts with radiology and nursing staff, physicians, patients, and visitors to resolve issues, provide customer service, drive performance improvement, and facilitate multi-level communication. This position works in conjunction with radiologists, physicists, and others to explore, develop, and test new procedures, guidelines, and protocols. Additionally, the specialist mentors residents and new medical personnel, demonstrates advanced skills in performing routine and advanced diagnostic MRI procedures, recommends changes and improvements, assists in consolidating and unifying scanning protocols throughout Froedtert Health, acts as a preceptor to MRI Tech I & II, and serves as an EPIC Superuser. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Three years minimum experience as an MRI Technologist is required.
• Successful completion of 2 year Rad Tech program in an AMA approved school is required.
• Minimum, post secondary education in a related clinical, technical or business field (1-2 years).
• Successful completion of cross-sectional anatomy class.
• Advanced EPIC and PACS training required.
• Completion of formal preceptor training/credentialing.
• Communication skills.
• Teaching ability geared to multiple audience learning levels.
• Computer and programming skills.
• Ability to relate to a variety of people with varying degrees of cognitive skills.
• EPIC/PACS superuser, preceptor.
• ARRT Certification in Radiologic Technology is required.
• ARRT Certification in Magnetic Resonance is required.
• BCLS certified within 3 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• On-the-job training (OJT) in new/advanced procedures.
• In-service instruction to advanced OJT.
