About The Position

The MRI Imaging Assistant works under the direction of a registered MRI Technologist to support onsite patient care and workflow. The assistant serves as an MRI resource for internal and external customers, answering questions and providing guidance based on clinical knowledge and experience. The role includes performing and maintaining daily MRI scanner checks and quality control required by the American College of Radiology and other credentialing organizations as required by law. The assistant helps maintain a safe MRI environment by appropriately screening everyone entering the MRI suite and performs IV insertion when contrast is needed, following Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines.

Requirements

• Certified Texas Medical Assistant, Certified Texas Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic.
• Ability to deal efficiently and courteously with clinical personnel and patients and establish effective working relationships.
• Ability to work closely with a remote technologist.
• Ability to act independently on information and make decisions that achieve optimal results.
• High energy, drive, and a positive attitude; commitment to customer service and teamwork; ability to multitask; and focus on achieving results.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience working in an MRI area is preferred.

Responsibilities
