About The Position

The MRB/Liaison Engineer will interpret engineering documents, conduct technical investigations, and develop cost-effective solutions for structural issues. This role involves analyzing problems, providing technical support for Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and ensuring repair schemes meet engineering requirements. The engineer will support daily production and delivery, participate in projects to improve productivity and financial performance, and collaborate with various teams to achieve business objectives. Training of junior personnel may also be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a Material Review Board (MRB) environment with primary structure repairs.
  • A deep understanding with metallic and composite aircraft structures.
  • Experience dispositioning non-conformances in aerospace.
  • Be a team player with a collaborative approach.
  • Flexible and comfortable working under pressure with a minimum of supervision.
  • Sound technical judgement and a practical approach.
  • Catia V5 experience.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Wichita (mandatory).
  • Must have U.S. citizenship (mandatory).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Boeing aircraft models; if you have worked on the 737, 787, or 777 models (an asset).
  • A desire and/or capability to obtain Engineering MRB delegation after a period of on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering documents and conduct technical investigations.
  • Analyze each situation and develop the most cost-effective solution (disposition/repair) in a timely manner.
  • Understand and solve problems related to structure and provide technical support in answering Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) raised by Quality Agents.
  • Ensure the conformity of repair schemes and dispositions with engineering requirements and specifications.
  • Support daily production and delivery activities.
  • Participate in projects that will increase our productivity, reduce waste and improve our financial performance.
  • Work closely with other teams such as Systems, Stress, Thermodynamic, Material & Processes, Propulsion, Environmental Control Systems, Logistics, Methods, Quality and Operations to achieve the organization’s business objectives.
  • Assist in training of junior Liaison Engineering personnel if required.
