About The Position

The MRB/Liaison Engineer will interpret engineering documents, conduct technical investigations, and develop cost-effective solutions for structures. This role involves analyzing situations, solving problems related to aircraft structures, and providing technical support for Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). The engineer will ensure the conformity of repair schemes and dispositions with engineering requirements, support daily production and delivery, and participate in projects to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance financial performance. Collaboration with various teams such as Systems, Stress, Thermodynamic, Material & Processes, Propulsion, Environmental Control Systems, Logistics, Methods, Quality, and Operations is crucial to achieve business objectives. The role may also involve training junior Liaison Engineering personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a Material Review Board (MRB) environment with primary structure repairs.
  • A deep understanding with metallic and composite aircraft structures.
  • Experience dispositioning non-conformances in aerospace.
  • Be a team player with a collaborative approach.
  • Flexible and comfortable working under pressure with a minimum of supervision.
  • Sound technical judgement and a practical approach.
  • Catia V5 experience.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Wichita (mandatory).
  • Must have U.S. citizenship (mandatory).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Boeing aircraft models; if you have worked on the 737, 787, or 777 models (an asset).
  • A desire and/or capability to obtain Engineering MRB delegation after a period of on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering documents and conduct technical investigations.

  • Understand and solve problems related to structure.
  • Provide technical support in answering Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) raised by Quality Agents.
  • Ensure the conformity of repair schemes and dispositions with engineering requirements and specifications.
  • Support daily production and delivery activities.
  • Participate in projects that will increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve financial performance.
  • Work closely with other teams such as Systems, Stress, Thermodynamic, Material & Processes, Propulsion, Environmental Control Systems, Logistics, Methods, Quality and Operations to achieve the organization’s business objectives.
  • Assist in training of junior Liaison Engineering personnel if required.
